Assessment & contest rules
Version 1.0 · Effective 6 November 2026
Before you start
Check the topic, assessment scope, question count, duration, available tools, attempt limits and result conditions shown for the activity. Contest and development-assessment timings can differ. An account is needed where progress or results are saved.
Timed contests
Current topic contests use 15 questions across three timed rounds, up to 15 minutes overall and up to 30 marks. Per-question caps, randomisation, permitted tools and tie handling are explained on the start screen. Those displayed rules govern the specific contest.
Timers continue during disconnection or time away. A submitted answer may be final and skipping may consume the opportunity to answer that question. Reopening a page does not necessarily grant a fresh attempt.
Fair participation and permitted assistance
Answer using only the tools allowed for that activity. General permission to use AI for learning does not permit outside assistance in a restricted assessment or timed contest. Do not share unreleased questions, use another person’s account or coordinate answers.
Fast responses and tab changes can be review signals; they are not proof of misconduct. Restrictions or ranking changes should have a recorded basis and a route for challenge. Activities are not represented as remotely proctored unless that is expressly provided.
Scoring, rankings and reports
Scoring can involve exact matching, numerical tolerance or disclosed partial credit. Contest rankings prioritise score, then answering time; exact ties follow the displayed rules. Standings can remain provisional before finalisation.
Written evaluation and disputed items may remain pending. Do not present a partial score as a fully reviewed overall result. Authored contest answers and explanations are released after the applicable closing or review period.
Technical problems and appeals
Keep your attempt reference and a brief description of the problem. Report a submission, timer, display or accessibility issue promptly. Avoid including employer-confidential material in screenshots. A restart or score change is considered against the recorded evidence; it is not automatic.
