Dr. Jahangir Ahmad Rather is a distinguished researcher and academic in the field of food technology and nutraceutical sciences. As the Chief Editor of Nutra, he brings extensive expertise in functional foods, bioactive compounds, food packaging, and nutraceutical innovations. He holds a Ph.D. in Food Technology from the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, India, and has made significant contributions to the study of food waste valorization, nanoemulsions, and advanced food analytical techniques.
Dr. Rather has a prolific research background, with numerous publications in high-impact journals covering sustainable food systems, fortified beverages, and bioactive extractions. His research has led to advancements in shelf-life enhancement of meat products, fruit peel valorization, and protein-based delivery systems. He has also contributed to major book chapters on polysaccharide-based films and processed meat products.

Dr. T Gayatri
Dr. T. Gayatri is an accomplished academician, researcher, and nutritionist with expertise in Home Science, Clinical Nutrition, and Dietetics. She holds a Ph.D. in Home Science from Utkal University (2023) and an M.Sc. in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics from Sri Padmavathi Mahila Vishvavidyalayam, Tirupati. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and dietetics, she has significantly contributed to the field of nutrition science.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Home Science at St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, Dr. Gayatri is responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research guidance, curriculum development, and academic evaluations. She has also worked as a guest faculty member at institutions like Andhra University and the National Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar.
Her research interests focus on diabetes, functional foods, and holistic health interventions. Her Ph.D. research examined the comparative effects of "Tender Nutrimix" on blood glucose and triglyceride levels in populations from Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. She has published multiple research papers in reputed journals, including studies on the impact of tender mango leaves on diabetes and functional food formulations for metabolic disorders.
Dr. Gayatri is a certified dietitian with experience at Talwalkars Better Value Fitness, Visakha Diabetes and Endocrine Centre, and Kalinga Hospital. Her clinical expertise includes anthropometric assessment, dietary planning, group counseling, and nutrition therapy for hypokinetic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. She has conducted corporate wellness sessions for organizations such as HPCL and the Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships.
Beyond teaching and clinical work, she has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences. Notable contributions include her work on millet-based recipes, the psychological impact of food habits, and nutrigenomics. She has also authored book chapters on millets and holistic health in aging. As an editor and reviewer for prestigious journals like the Indian Journal of Nutrition and Current Research in Nutrition and Food Science, she continues to influence the field of nutrition research.
Committed to professional development, Dr. Gayatri has completed specialized certifications in translational gut microbiomics, seed rotation therapy for PCOS, and faculty development programs. She has also played an active role in organizing workshops and research projects related to food standardization and biotechnology.
Her leadership extends to academic associations, where she has served as an advisor for the Home Science Association and Talent Club at St. Joseph’s College. She is also a life member of the Indian Dietetic Association and the Indian Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.

Dr Knishka Siingh

Dr. Knishka Siingh is a seasoned academician and researcher specializing in food science, nutrition, and alternative medicine with over 12 years of experience in teaching, research, and clinical dietetics. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biosciences & Technology, MGM University, where she actively contributes to nutritional research, public health initiatives, and innovative food technology studies.
With a PhD in Food & Nutrition and an MD in Alternative Medicine, Dr. Siingh’s expertise spans nutritional epidemiology, food safety, functional foods, and sustainable food innovations. She has worked extensively on nutritional intervention programs, dietary research, and food regulatory frameworks, making her a valuable contributor to the advancement of nutritional science and food technology.
Dr. Siingh has held academic and clinical roles across prestigious institutions, including G D Goenka University, JIMS College, and Dr. Shikha’s NutriHealth India Pvt. Dr Mousumi Saha
Biotechnology and Food Microbiology Specialist
Dr. Mousumi Saha is an accomplished biotechnologist and food microbiology expert with over 15 years of research and academic experience. She holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Vidyasagar University, India, with a specialization in microbial biotechnology, molecular biology, antibiotic resistance, and bioinformatics.
Her professional journey includes prestigious postdoctoral fellowships, including the National Postdoctoral Fellow (DST-NPDF) and DBT-Research Associate (DBT-RA), where she conducted groundbreaking research in environmental microbiology, antibiotic resistance mechanisms, and foodborne pathogen studies.
Dr. Saha has held multiple leadership roles, including serving as Centre Coordinator for the BIRAC-supported E-YUVA Centre at Adamas University, focusing on bio-entrepreneurship, funding management, and translational research. Dr. Premjyoti Patil is a biotechnology and food processing specialist with over 17 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry collaborations. She holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and an M.Sc. in Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.
As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Basaveshwar Engineering College, Dr. Patil has led academic programs, industry collaborations, and pioneering research in food processing, biofuels, and microbiology. She played a key role in establishing the Biofuel Research, Information, and Demonstration Center (BRIDC) and has secured research funding for food innovation projects.

Dr. Sumita Mathur
Dr. Sumita Mathur is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in nutrition, health, and child development. With a Ph.D. in Home Science (Nutrition) from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, she has extensively studied the impact of nutritional, physiological, and psychological factors on women undergoing infertility treatments.
Dr. Mathur has served as an Assistant Professor at Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University (MJPR), Jaipur, where she taught Public Nutrition, Human Development, and Food Science. She has also worked as a Clinical Dietitian at Sahyadri Hospital, Pune, and as a Project Officer for the Food Fortification Project at IIHMR, Jaipur, focusing on policy implementation and public health initiatives.
